The Ravenstone Group was founded in 1991 and quickly grew to become the UK's largest independant claims investigation company, and we maintain that status today.

We are unencumbered by the protocols and slow decision making processes of large corporate entities yet large enough to support innovation, research and development.

The Ravenstone Group employs a field force of over 400 investigators supported by over 100 office based staff and utilises many cutting edge and unique technologies to investigate and scrutinise all aspects of each case, providing clear and conclusive reports that enable our clients to make timely and well informed decisions.  We can empower and enhance your strategy to deal with fraud , dishonesty and exaggeration. Our unique services can assist and accommodate constantly evolving fraud techniques.

The Ravenstone Group holds ISO 9001:2000 accreditation and is regularly audited internally and externally as well as by our clients. We are members of IFIG, IAATI, ABI Protect and CIFAS.

Our Team

Rod Bond

Founder and Sole Owner

A former Senior Detective from the Greater Manchester Police. Having worked as a Police Officer closely with the motor insurance industry on a number of serious fraud cases, Rod identified an opportunity to supply a service to this sector and negotiated a nationwide contract with a leading Insurer to investigate motor insurance fraud. This led to other contracts and continued growth, building the company to where it stands today. Whilst Rod has several diverse business interests, Ravenstone LLP remains closest to his heart. Other than his business interests, Rod renovates period properties and collects classic and military vehicles.

David Brownsword

Sales Director

David has spent over 25 years working in the insurance claims industry. Having successfully built his own company to a multi-million pound operation he decided to capitalise on his hard work and sold out in 2005. Having maintained his reputation for delivering an excellent claims investigation product to the insurance industry, David has been tempted back into a product consultancy and sales & marketing role, responsible for developing Ravenstone’s portfolio of clients and product ranges.

Richard Norbury

General Manager

Richard joined Ravenstone-UK in 2006. He has over 25 years experience in the insurance claims industry, 14 years at Eagle Star holding various technical and managerial positions. Richard previously sat on the MIB Adjudication Panel and worked for Capita Insurance Services. Richard is also a keen sportsman and a mean golfer, always welcoming of a challenge.

Louise Lilley

Technical Manager & HR

Louise joined Ravenstone-UK in 1994. She has worked in Insurance all her life, beginning as a graduate trainee at Independent Insurance. She then went on to work for Cunningham Hart Adjusters and Norwich Union, always in the claims arena.

Joanne Smith

Technical Manager

Joanne joined Ravenstone-UK in 2010 to add strength to our technical and management team. Joanne has worked in a claims environment for over 15 years, for Solicitors, Insurers and Financial Institutions and adds a wealth of experience to our motor and fraud investigation products.

Gemma Barnes (B.Sc Hons)

Operations and Training

Gemma has worked for Ravenstone-UK for 10 years. She is responsible for the administration of all internal working processes within our organisation and played a major role in designing and developing our bespoke in house claims management systems.

Dr. Michael Bond

Intelligence Systems and Special Projects Manager

Having spent 30 years in the world of commercial enterprise, mainly in problem solving executive roles, Dr. Bond has now worked with Ravenstone-LLP for 7 years and designed and commissioned Ravenstone’s claims intelligence system and it’s implementation in identifying fraudulent claims. Mike's qualifications are in engineering which has given him an excellent sharp analytical mind, well fitted to claims investigation.

Mark Payne

Fraud Manager

Mark joined Ravenstone-UK 15 years ago from an insurance background. He has been trained in the art of fraud investigation by both in-house training and attendance overseas at several fraud awareness and detection training courses. Mark also trains and co-ordinates other claims consultants who undertake fraud enquiries on our behalf.
